TOOTHBRUSH

If every Canadian (37.6 million people) threw away a total of 3 toothbrushes in the span of one year, that would be equivalent to throwing 112.8 million toothbrushes into landfills every year!!! Yikes!
Our plastic, petroleum-based toothbrushes can take over 400 years to decompose, and many of them end up in our oceans where they pose significant threats to marine life and our precious ecosystems!

Switching from a traditional plastic toothbrush to a bamboo toothbrush was my first (and easiest) eco-swap! The bristles on my Brush Naked toothbrush are soft, and I feel good knowing I'm using a naturally anti-bacterial and anti-microbial tool to clean my pearly whites! The best part is that the toothbrush can be thrown in your compost bin! However, the nylon bristles (that are BPA-free!) have to be removed before you compost it. Overall, I love this swap!
