REUSABLE PRODUCE BAGS
According to a report by Oceana, Canadians use about 15 billion plastic bags over the course of one year. These single-use plastic items are incredibly difficult to recycle and the majority of them end up in landfills or in our oceans. They can take thousands of years to break down, releasing toxic chemicals and micro-plastics into our food and water systems. Not to mention, a crazy amount of resources are used to manufacture this very short-lived item.

The Market Bags Upcycled Cotton Produce & Snack Bags
I have been trying to find a Canadian company that makes eco-friendly reusable bags for grocery shopping and I finally found The Market Bags.
These bags are made in Canada using natural & sustainable fibres and are meant to last you a lifetime. I will say I feel quite superior at the store when filling these babies with my produce and bulk supplies. This swap has made it extremely easy for me to kick the plastic single-use produce bags to the curb (that is when I don't forget them at home).
