Dear California Energy Commission:

As Executive Director of the South Bay Workforce Investment Board and of
California’s GREEN Workforce Coalition, I would like to submit this letter of
support for the creation of several Green Hive facilities throughout the state of
California. As the ‘Green’ Movement continues to gain steam, the need for green
education, curriculum and training will be vital to fill the thousands of new green
jobs that are on the horizon. The Green Hive is a unique and vital project because
it creates a physical hub that brings together every component of the developing
Green economy: K-12 education, higher education, industry, government, NGOs,
manufacturers and traditional distribution channels. This comprehensive and
inclusive approach will allow the center to provide exceptional educational
opportunities.

The upcoming opening of The Green Hive’s first facility in downtown Los
Angeles has generated excitement throughout the LA community. I hope that the
CEC helps to provide the funding necessary to open these revolutionary resource
centers throughout the state, thereby spreading this opportunity and enthusiasm
across California. The demand for information and access to green technologies,
products and alternatives is growing rapidly, and providing a physical hub to help
facilitate these demands is critical to the future of our communities.
