Dear Commissioners:
I am writing today to express enthusiastic support for The Green Hive in their proposal to advance the green economy. As a recognized leader in green manufacturing of products for green buildings, Interface, Inc. is very sensitive to the industry relationships we have forged during our journey toward sustainability, including especially our work with The Green Hive. We consider The Green Hive to be one of the most astute participants in the green building movement. In particular, they have developed an innovative and comprehensive model facility that is well suited to the role of resource center and hub to assist the entire design and build community in the deployment of sustainable products, technologies, education, training, and ultimately green jobs.
As Los Angeles embarks on its ambitious journey to establish Los Angeles and its surrounding district as a leader in all aspects of the new green economy, the green building programs will be among the most visible and important. Interface is pleased to be supporting The Green Hive in this first technology showcase and resource center. We are also pleased to join the Los Angeles Community College District in support of this important project.
We believe that this new facility will provide a venue for educational services and the promotion of green products and practices. These will ultimately lead to a demand for a highly skilled and trained labor force. This facility proposed by The Green Hive fills an existing void, and brings together a wide variety of stakeholders who are committed to developing and meeting the emerging demand for green buildings.
I urge you to support The Green Hive's proposal. Their approach in this initiative offers a workable solution to many of our nation's contemporary challenges. It promised to be a place where people of all ages can learn about the sustainable practices we all must learn as we move ahead in preserving the environment and, at the same time, broadening our green economic and job base.
Thank you in advance for any support you can provide to defray the costs of creating and operating this collaborative facility and to establishing additional facilities throughout the state.
Very truly yours,
Ray C. Anderson

"The Green Hive is what many of us in the "green" sector have been waiting for. Their efforts to organize the types of information that practitioners of this rapidly evolving field consistently need at our finger tips to make decisions are simply unprecedented. I look forward to spending some time in the hive."
