Dear Commissioners,

As a longtime resident of Los Angeles County and active member of the sustainability and green building community, I would like to offer this letter of support for Green Hive. There is a real need for the type of green products and educational services these facilities provide. The Green Hive will serve as a critical hub for business leaders, researchers, and the community at large.

UCLA and the City of Los Angeles have partnered with other universities and agencies in Clean Tech Los Angeles, an initiative to create jobs by attracting and retaining clean technology, facilitate the continued growth of a large marketplace for clean technology goods and services and deploy clean technologies to clean up the environment, create a better quality of life, and exceed our regulatory responsibilities. The Green Hive will be an important asset for this effort to move clean tech businesses to the Los Angeles Region.

I am excited about the opening of the first Green Hive in LA this fall, as a resource for myself and other local leaders, as well bringing our students to visit the facility on field trips.

I encourage you to please consider supporting the construction Green Hive facilities throughout the State. Your support of this effort to catalyze the emerging green building industry is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to call me with any questions.
