Dear Commissioners,
 
I am pleased to be reaching out to you today because it is a tangible sign of our efforts to connect the stakeholders in our transition to a green economy.  As a highly recognized leader in institutional green building, we are proud of the industry relationships that have been forged throughout our journey including our work with a company call the green hive.  With the green hive, we have developed an innovative and comprehensive facility that will act as a resource and hub to assist the entire community in the education and deployment of sustainable products, technologies, training, and ultimately green jobs.

As you know, the Green Ambassdors has embarked on an incredible journey to establish Los Angeles, and our District specifically, as a leader in all aspects of the new green economy through our “green” building programs.  We are pleased to be working with the green hive, and support this first technology showcase and resource center in conjunction with the Los Angeles Community College District showroom at 811 Wilshire.

This new facility will provide a venue for educational services and to promote green products and practices ultimately leading to a demand for highly skilled and trained labor force. This effort will fill a void in bringing together a wide variety of stakeholders committed to developing this emerging demand for green building.

I would invite you to support the green hive and their efforts.  This initiative offers a workable solution to many of our nation’s contemporary challenges, as a place where people of all ages can learn about the sustainable practices that we all must consider as steps toward preserving our environment and at the same time broaden our green economic and job base.

Thank you for any support that you can provide to offset the costs of operating our collaborative facility and to establish additional facilities throughout the state.  It is greatly appreciated.
