US Green Building Council, Long Beach Branch of the Los Angeles Chapter, and the green hive, announce an interactive ½ day event that will deliver information focused on upcoming 2020 net zero energy residential construction standards and more. The first of the series of educational events is June 11th and will be held at The Grand in Long Beach. It will feature industry experts along with appropriate vendors and manufacturers to address the field application questions from attendees.

Details on the event:
Description:
The majority of our nation's energy requirements are currently met by fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These fossil fuels are non-renewable sources, that is, they draw on finite resources that will eventually dwindle or disappear, or they become too expensive or too environmentally damaging to retrieve in the future. It is thus important for us to conserve energy and promote the use of renewable energy sources to deliver clean energy that improves our lives and minimizes our impact on the environment.
The California Strategic Energy Action plan requires that all new residential construction in California will be zero net energy by 2020 and all new commercial construction in California will be zero net energy by 2030. There are a variety of technologies that currently exist to help in achieving these net zero energy goals in facilities. In addition, the California Public utility commission and the California Energy Commission offer various incentives and funding respectively for promoting these technologies that contribute in achieving these net zero facilities.
This event is specifically designed to provide pertinent information on the Net Zero Energy facilities and to display technologies available to help accomplish these net zero energy facilities.
