LOS ANGELES, CA (June 27, 2009) – The Green Hive, an integrated library, event center and marketplace designed to embrace, educate and promote sustainable design and construction practices hosted an evening cocktail event providing an opportunity to connect with its stakeholders, user groups, and green community prior to the opening of its first location in downtown LA this Fall, 2009.
The event was held poolside at EVO, one of Los Angeles’s first green residential high-rise buildings in downtown. EVO homes are created to USGBC standards using sustainable and renewable materials, efficient and low-impact construction techniques, and an eco-friendly approach to neighborhood growth and planning.
A few hundred architects, designers, contractors, ‘green’ entrepreneurs and business leaders attended the event. ““This was a fun and inspiring event that brought our green community together to share experiences, ideas and connect on the many ways we all may work together to further the movement toward sustainable building, design and lifestyle choices. This is the kind of dynamic that will be happening on a regular basis at The Green Hive” Said Kim Robinson, COO, The Green Hive.
Michela O’Connor Abrams, President & Publisher of DWELL magazine is an active participant on The Green Hive’s board of Advisors.
